Ammo is getting so expensive, maybe I should start giving airguns more serious attention.

I know exactly what you mean. I have 3 of the Sheridan 5mm pump-up's and lots of target and hunting pellets for them, but I'd like one of the PCP rifles in a bigger caliber, say .30 or .50, but then I worry I'd have no electricity available for the pump to recharge it (good for 10-20 shots per resevoir), likewise for the pneumatic tanks that can be connected to the guns--how to recharge if no electricity? Lots of pumping (arms, legs) to do those manually! And I think I'd like one of the airguns that have an integrated silencer (legal and no fancy legal footwork or government red tape if not for firearm and not detachable).

Ok, got you covered... You'll have to look into what is better than what, but these will be nice additions I've been eyeing. Reusable 12g CO2 cylinders www.amazon.com/Fevzau-Cartridge-Refillable-Rechargeable-Accessories/dp/B08NDZFDBW/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=12g+CO2+Rechargeable+Cylinder+Cartridge&qid=1611790863&sr=8-112v OR 110v HPA compressor...BUT I'm not sure this model has an auto stop on it, so look into auto stop feature www.amazon.com/compressor-power-supply-paintball-scuba/dp/B088WMRQ8C/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=12v+hpa+compressor&qid=1611790737&sr=8-4I'd still have a stirrup pump around if you can. My Diana Stormrider came with one, and I can't fill up the storage tank all in one shot so I usually do 10 pumps here and there, but may have to outsource pumping to my son in the future I've seen some nifty contraptions for stirrup pumps though LOL Here is a nice 30 cal, but also comes in 9mm www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Hatsan_BT_Big_Bore_Carnivore_QE_Air_Rifle/3571#6895What I DON'T like about it, me personally, is the fact it has a specialty magazine, and cannot EASILY do single shot. The Diana Stormrider came with a single shot tray insert and was one of the selling points for me. Don't forget your addons if you need one, check the disclaimer page for information, as quite a few people making them now. donnyfl.com/

A. I don't know what a stirrup pump is. I'll have to google that. (But I'll use duck duck whatever, not google.) B. I am not impressed with the fps output of that Dragonclaw--about 675 or so max, as I recall for a .50 cal bullet. I'd really like something more in line with a .45 1911 output, about 950 fps, at a minimum. I'd really prefer something in the .22LR range, 1250+, but that is hard to get out of air rifles. So I'm kinda hoping for a nice PCP in the .30 or .35 range to come out. Haven't found my dream rifle yet--smaller bullet but same high pressure means more fps! C. I think I'd like one of those fancy crossbows that we discussed here in another thread, the one that that laughing giggling German engineer/inventor made. That, plus a pcp rifle, plus my sheridan 5mm's, and I can at least reliably and relatively quietly hunt small game of all sort, and even pigs and deer, if worse comes to worse. D. Yes, the Dragonclaw shoots specialized arrows (bolts). That might qualify as a primitive weapon to use in primitive or archery hunting season. One thing that makes it attractive to me.

idk if I ever posted the bear hunt with airgun video or not, but kinda cool Dragon claw air bolt hunting My Umarex Ruger Air Magnum Break Barrel in .177 the first new rifle I bought, is supposed to be able to achieve 1400 fps in non-lead, and 1200 with lead ammo. It took a awhile but found heavier ammo to bring it under 1100fps. I only bring it up bc in my particular case...[backyard in town] at 1100 fps and higher is breaking the sound barrier and sounds like a 22 powder burner....I need it quiet lol Now my Hatsan .22 springer is only 800 fps, but I can tell you, at almost point blank, it will splatter head contents of a possum onto the garage wall. I'm just saying, I wouldn't totally dismiss the 675fps ish of that 50 can when people are taking out feral hogs. Having said that, here is a 50 cal @1000 fps www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Umarex_Hammer_50_PCP_Air_Rifle/4336remember you can get get different weights of ammo to slow or speed up travel and you can readily get a .50 ball mold to make your own ammo
