Its been so long since membership mattered, that I had completely forgotten about the forum viewing restrictions for non-LPmembers. Major_A: you are now a LPmember! Indiana has gotten close with "Permitless Carry" a couple times, but can't seem to get it done. We have a RINO majority, so they're not very effective. That article says that Indiana is up to 22% of adults now carrying, so that has improved over the last few years. Its really "Permitless Carry" because it doesn't change anything other than removing the requirement to actually get the permit. Basically, if you WOULD have qualified to receive the permit, you're legal to carry. But if you are a "prohibited person" who would have been denied, its still illegal for you to carry. And it still needs to be a legal firearm configuration. True "Constitutional Carry" would mean that you could rely on the government to execute anyone who tried to interfere with a felon's right to carry a machine gun and silencer.

True "Constitutional Carry" would mean that you could rely on the government to execute anyone who tried to interfere with a felon's right to carry a machine gun and silencer. I've never truly agreed with that felon restriction. If you have served your time for the crime, it seems your rights should all be intact. In Florida, I think they even have a constitutional amendment on the books restoring voting rights for such felons, but not for their RKBA. Apparently, the punishment for felon level crimes includes lifelong loss of RKBA but only temporary loss for "voting rights" (which by the US Constitution is only for Federal Elections, anyway, as I understand it). Having been involved in many many shootings involving felons with guns, I know that a felon still has the right to protect himself (self-defense), but if he uses a weapon, they still charge him with "felon in possession of a firearm" (even if he takes the other guy's (attacker's) gun away from him and immediately uses it himself for self-defense). Doesn't seem right. And to assume a Felon will use a firearm criminally, and that's the only reason he has the firearm, seems to me to be the same treatment that honest law-abiding citizens get from anti-gunners about wanting to buy, keep, or carry firearms--we're assumed to be criminals and are assumed definitely to be going to use the weapon for illegal death and destruction sooner rather than later. Now, if you actually meant to say that "True "Constitutional Carry" would mean that you could rely on the government to execute anyone who tried to interfere with a FELLOW's right to carry a machine gun and silencer."---then I'd agree with you.

I mean everyone, INCLUDING felons, should be able to count on the government to do its only job and kill anyone who tries to interfere with you exercising your Constitutional rights.
If someone is so dangerous that they can't become a full citizen again upon being released from prison, then don't let them out! Anyone that bad probably shouldn't have been in prison in the first place and should have gotten the death penalty instead.
