i thought this might be an interesting thread to start .check out this church. it has been for as long as i can remember. longer.

I have seen another church with similar architecture (same sloping roof line and orange girders going from roof to ground.) If I remember correctly is was either a Seventh Day Adventist or maybe a Mormon church.

The higher ends and central downward sloping sections somewhat remind me of the USS Arizona (Pearl Harbor) Memorial:

There is a house in Lawrence Kansas that has that same design. I always thought it looked cool among the other houses that look so "normal".
