Years ago ....during the summertime, body shops would get slow. Therefore, I would fine supplemental income painting (house type painting). I won a bid doing the interior painting for Apple's umpteen buildings in Cupertino,Ca. Guess what.........They even have PC Computers all over the place....Wozniack would die.....Steve Jobs should be ashamed of himself......They also failed to pay for 2 years.....I had to sue Apple for my money....therefore...I ain't buyin' a Mac till someone else makes it!!!!!

LOL Im sure their sales are greatly boosted by the Iphone... just imagine what their sales would have been if they did not limit it to one cell carrier... mmmm all the millions lost...
But that would be in keeping with their proprietary nature.

But that would be in keeping with their proprietary nature. Sell yourself to just any old supplier, and the reputation goes down because some of those suppliers are crap. Pick and choose your supplier and you maintain the quality and the reputation. Then the millions come.......and keep coming, for years and years. But regardless of the carrier, they'd still come to the Apple store to get the iPhone, rather than to Mom and Pop's cell phone store, and there they see--and fall in love with--the desktop and laptop Macs!

Here we don't have a mac store. I would get and Iphone but, you guessed it, AT&T has very limited service area up here. I would not buy a Mac as they are way over priced, and proprietary. Some PC makers are crap. For those of us that build our own systems we put what we want from who we want in our boxes and can choose what suppliers for those components we want.
I know you don't crack your own mac, and then again there is no point because there is not much you can change inside a mac on your own. My sister had to take her mini mac in to the shop to have the hard drive replaced. Took them a month to get it back to her. They claimed a back log of work and waiting for the HD to arrive on order. Takes me maybe an hour to swap a hard drive, format it and run windows in on it.
It is like the parts they put in a new car. Most of them are dealer items only, and you have to go to the source and pay 10 times the price for them. Then can't replace the part yourself because it takes a special tool only the dealer has. It's all built in as to make more money for the dealer and car maker.
PC parts are interchangeable. Common tools may be used. Thus adding to why Mac will never take over the market completely. RESISTANCE IS NOT FUTILE!!! Buwhahahahahaha

... I know you don't crack your own mac, and then again there is no point because there is not much you can change inside a mac on your own. NO, THERE IS NO POINT BECAUSE IT DOESN'T NEED ANYTHING. My sister had to take her mini mac in to the shop to have the hard drive replaced. Took them a month to get it back to her. They claimed a back log of work and waiting for the HD to arrive on order. Takes me maybe an hour to swap a hard drive, format it and run windows in on it. SHAME ON YOU. YOU SHOULD HAVE OPENED IT AND REPLACED IT FOR HER. IT WOULD HAVE VOIDED ANY APPLE WARRANTY, OF COURSE, BUT HEY, YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN EACH OTHER HIGH FIVES AND DID YOUR SUPERIORITY DANCE BECAUSE YOU DID IT YOURSELF. It is like the parts they put in a new car. Most of them are dealer items only, and you have to go to the source and pay 10 times the price for them. Then can't replace the part yourself because it takes a special tool only the dealer has. It's all built in as to make more money for the dealer and car maker. OH, I QUITE AGREE. BUY ALL THE AFTERMARKET STUFF YOU WANT. FOR NUTS AND SCREWS, IT'S OK, BUT FOR THE IMPORTANT STUFF, I WANT WHAT THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER/DESIGNER INTENDED FOR IT, BOTH CARS AND COMPUTERS. PC parts are interchangeable. Common tools may be used. YEP, SO ARE HUMANS. THAT'S WHY STD'S EXIST. Thus adding to why Mac will never take over the market completely.... COMPLETELY? DOUBTFUL, YES. BUT IF YOU ARE HONEST, YOU'LL ADMIT THAT APPLE CREATED THE PERSONAL COMPUTER AS WE KNOW IT, AND IF IT WEREN'T FOR MAC OS ADVANCES, WINDOWS WOULD NEVER HAVE IMPROVED FROM THE DOS PROMPT DAYS.

That will probably cost him about $100 for the Mac shop to fix. Hehehehe Well if you like having what they spoon feed ya then its all good to have to buy a whole new Mac to upgrade your hardware. Yea her warranty sucked, it still cost her almost 300 bucks to get her mini mac fixed. And mac may well have ruled the market if He had beat Gates to the patent office.. Sour grapes? STD'S Lmao that is a good one... some people don't turn on their anti virus program before interfacing with another body. If Mac is what the WORLD used I'm sure there would be more viruses written for Mac.

MAC did beat windows to the patent office. Windows took ideas that MAC came up with and used it as their own, but in a lawsuit it was decided that windows had the right to use what they did... so windows actually made the computer what it is today... in a weird twisted way.

a) Shift Key Works JuSt FiNe, thank you. JUST WANTED TO EMPHASIS MY ANSWERS FOR THE BLIND, AS APPARENTLY THEY ARE BLIND TO REALITY IN OH SO MANY WAYS. b) New keyboard is less than $35, if I buy Apple. Had to do so when a young'un spilled tea on the keyboard a couple of years ago. Y'all remember that, I had to type a . for the spaces: can't.type.sentences.without.periods! Couldn't play because my jump key was the spacebar (and didn't want to remap the key). c) Yep, spoonfeed me the good stuff anyday, let others lap up the swill at the mass feeder! d) Mini-mac is only about $450. I can't believe the hd repair/replacement would be $300--maybe it was a reseller shop doing the repairs and not a real apple store? And PS, that's why User Groups are for--they do the under-the-hood stuff for their members, including teaching of it, in such a way as to do the repairs cheaply and avoid problems that would let Apple know so the warranties wouldn't necessarily be voided. PPS, the extended Apple warranties for whole Mac desktop systems for 2 or 3 years are just $160 ish (good policies, repair/replace most things no questions asked with mail-in and drop-off service), and mini-mac probably less than that, so it seems to me that someone just missed the boat entirely on this little deal.
Back to the salt mines. Later all.

don't know what shop she took it too. The 300 was the hd and labor. Don't know the whole story was not there. Just know that if she had a PC I could have done it for her for just the cost of the hd. She now has come to her senses and HATES MAC with a passion. lol

She still has the mini mac.. After paying that for the fix she has to save up for a while before buying a new PC.. or having me build one. She cusses it regularly... and laments that she cant use many main stream programs..
