Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

It's not about improvement, it's about innovation. The Mac has been at the forefront for the entire personal computer era, and others have been sitting back and copying/stealing. And Apple is doing it ALSO with iTunes, the iPod, and soon with the iPhone.
Put THAT in your BIOS and smoke it!

Its no suprise that Apple is on the top of that list. They're always coming out with a new iSomething, and its usually something that people actually want (unlike Windows Vista). The coming iPhone will probably guarantee them being on the top of next year's list too.

LOL, ask him what apple product and software he owns and enjoys! None! I stand strong against this evil empire that is trying to overcome us with superior technology and customer service. I won't be tricked into buying their products!

Buying? OK, that might be true. But you didn't say anything about using. You do have an iPod and use it and iTunes. It was a freebie or work related or something? You told me so last year. Right?

I had an iPod shuffle that I got free with a credit card balance transfer. I worked great, but I never used it much. I ended up selling it to a guy at work.

maybe this is why they have done so well My oldest daughter has an I-Pod...she bought it with her own money..I hate it...you have to fire up software to load it...do not interrupt it or there is trouble. The rest of us have RCA Lyra's..3 of them..they are PnP(plug'n'play)...no software needed...drag and drop from harddrive to it

Is there some reason you're showing an iMac (the blueberry 233 MHz Generation-3 power-pc chip model) that is 8 years, 3 chip major generations, and 10+ models ago? Or did you just want to show that businesses recognized a winner, even in its infancy, and wanted to cash in on that image and sell similar appearing items to the unwashed masses?
Or did you want me to post a picture of my feet next to a pc and say "Count toes or Windows?"
There is a reason the iPod is outselling any and all other mp3 players combined. It works. And the software is a big reason it works so well. So get over it, already.

see for me what I have found is before my daughter purchased hers, my niece had one. She came over because she wanted to get some tracks from my computer..we couldn't do it because I had no need for the software. I didn't want to install something that I would never use again..makes no sense...that is the main reason I dislike it..is not universal. I still don't have the software on my computer so if for any reason my home network goes down my daughter can not update her playlist. I see that the software makes it easy to use...but easy isn't always better in some cases...and not saying the product is bad..but I probably never will own one..I can just pop in a fresh AAA battery and load up the one I have...though I can no longer use it since i switched to driving a fork truck at my job.
Also I have found from what I have heard and read..they are a big fad ...my youngest daughter was ridiculed for having an "MP3" player and not an I-Pod...that is the main reason my oldest bought hers...everyone had them...so I made her give her "MP3" player to her mom in exchange for the gas I used to drive to get it. I payed a good penny for the first one and my wife can use it for walking.

I do not own an iPod, yet I use iTunes as much as I do my browser, word processor, and game software. It lets me pop in a cd to play and load for future easy playing or burning for copies, it lets me look up and listen to samples of songs and albums to find out information on music (just looked up Crowded House, for example, to see what the "Hey Now, Hey Now" song is--it's "Don't Dream It's Over"), it lets me download web movies and podcasts (a lot are free), it lets me listen to internet radio, and it lets me download songs, etc. that I want to buy. What's this crap about it isn't universal? iTunes exists for both Mac and Windows. It's free. iTunes lets you upload and download MP3's and wavs and apple format songs. Now, the stuff you buy from the Apple store, you can burn onto cd's and listen to on CD players such as in your car, but you can only burn 10 identical copies of the cd before you have to re-order the songs in the playlist being burned, and you can only listen to it on a total of 5 authorized computers (you choose the 5). There is a way to download the stuff you've bought from apple, too, onto other players, I have read, but I haven't bothered to look into that. Hamstring yourself if you want with the simple mp3 players out there, or use a better, richer product which is intended to be used with software, just as your computer is, for a different result. You know, transistor AM radios are still available, they don't need any software, and all they need is a battery, too. Lots of free "downloads" for them, too, but just don't try to hit the "repeat" or "pause" buttons. Tch tch tch. Such great antipathy toward Apple. I just don't understand it.
