<sarcasm> I don't think I understand the point of your quote there red. Can you please explain, as I don't think anyone here knows what in the world you might be trying to say there. </sarcasm>

IDA.. first suggestion is to take that linksys router out to the trap range and use a shotty on it. (hate that brand never had anything but trouble with em) I would sugest a belkin.
My step son bought a laptop a few months back and the linksys router he bought to go with it would not connect for him.. we had to get the belkin.
set up took about 5 min and he was connected. Didn't have to do a thing to his laptop except turn on the wifi switch on the front of the comp .. and use the connect wizard.
Vista is ok .. dint think its worth buying an upgrade or full version though.

I too have no use for Linksys routers. I had the same issues. My Belkin pre-N wireless router rocks!

Oh now you tell me! LOL I had a Dlink setup and couldn't get crap for a signal to the upstairs CPU in my daughters room. the linksys solved that. but it seams that the windows and the linksys are competing for priority! After some finagling it works but after shutdown the same thing happens. And mysteriously the laptops wifi turns itself off while trying to connect.

my belkin G+ 125 kbps has a 700 foot range..
I had to go over to my parents house (they live across the drive way from me). and set their laptop and pc that are on wireless connection to ignore my signal. They were picking it up and running off it. Id say about 500 feet away.

<more sarcasm>Go back to your D-Link. You can't be sharing your internet connection with anyone if you want your pings to improve... ;D . Prez, where did you find that Sarcasm Tool Button anyway? That was a great response Red! I didn't quite spring a whale-spout, like Mar, but I have been chuckling about it on-and-off for about 10 minutes now. IDA, sorry I can't be any help to you on this. All this computer-illiterate fool can do is dish out sarcasm. Good luck with Windows Vista. It took me 8 minutes just to find out how to bring up "MSconfig" so I can remove some "startup" programs that still aren't "blending" with Vista too well. The face of Vista is quite different when you first get started, but the "guts" are are still similar. (it was really simple to find, just type it in the bottom "find" bar. I am still adjusting to that.) They should be packaging some Valium right in the box that Vista comes in. That would help ease the tension some.

LOL Silly, Or the seizures caused from the overly high blood pressure when you loose your cool, and start smashing your computer with a bat.

Yep, the bat would certainly take care of that nagging blood pressure issue, but then again, so does getting onto the Playground and getting a few leaking holes put in me.
Windows Vista came with a new screen saver I have never seen before. Its called "Northern Lights" and looks quite similar to what is actually going on in my brain while I try to figure out some of the basic settings in this new operating system.
