Good thing that you didn't use the spell-checker utility. It would probably have crashed the server.

I am sure that we all have seen this one. Ag to a rh at Ce Uy, it dt mr in wt or te ls in a wd ae, te oy it tg is tt te ft ad lt lr be at te rt pe. Te rt cn be a tl ms ad yu cn sl rd it wt pm. Ts is be te hn md ds nt rd ey lr by if, bt te wd as a we. Uh huh, right. So we don't need all those silly little extra letters in any order, right? Except that we need them, all of them and in the right order, in order to learn the words in the first place so that the words are in our brains and we can read and pick out the correct words in the correct context and not any misspelled different words with different meanings. It might be obvious that the word "raed" is "read," but on the other hand, especially with other words misspelled or with a limited context, it could be "reed" and misspelled or "dear" and misspelled or "rear" and misspelled, etc., and you have to know lots of words correctly spelled and their meanings to make sure you pick the right one nearly 100% of the time.

Good point Red yes you do need to know the word in the first place in order to be able to decode the jumble. This is why some have a hard time with the word jumbles in the paper. The actual thing posted is an urban legend. however it is interesting. I believe that those of us non spellers can actually read it better than the<sarcasm>"educated"<sarcasm> ones. My English teacher a Eng. major with a doctorate nearly had an aneurysm reading this...it was funny.

I read like a book worm, never had a problem with reading it.. It's retaining the ability to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard and have them come back out spelled correctly that frustrates the crap out of me.
