Here is related info on a guy who wants to jump from an airplane/helicopter and land without a parachute, using only a windsuit. www.nytimes.com/2007/12/10/sports/othersports/10flying.html?_r=1&hp&oref=sloginOne line from the article caught my eye: "Some wing suit pilots have briefly slowed the vertical descent to about 30 miles an hour. But they are moving forward horizontally at 75 m.p.h. " It's not a gentle glide at all, but quite fast! In the video on this link, Mr. Corliss said he was trying to get a glide that was 1 foot fall for every 3 foot horizontal movement. Isn't that a 33% grade? Wow, I get nervous driving in the mountains with those 3 and 4% grades down the hills! |

;D ;D....I actually wore my Air Assault wings above my Jump wings.....That caused alot of grief....but repelling seems smarter than jumping.....even though my repelling from Blackhawks led to my medical discharge!!!

It's kind of like when Woody called out Buzz Lightyear. He said "that's not flying, that is falling with style". LOL! I looked into the details of this XXX stunt and come to find out, the actual gliding time is less than 120 seconds. Pretty sure I would crap my pants for a couple of ticks on the clock......  I just don't think I could. |

HOLY MONKEYS!! that is crazy.....just one thing, how the hell do they land?? (without dying I mean LOL) yeah I know they use parachutes. looks cool though, never would do it but would watch it
