LOL that is awesome. I tried inventing a rubberband machine gun (not near as cool as that) when I was a kid, but instead I came up with a pump action shotty style gun with spread fire lol. I think my parents still have it somewhere in their house. I'll post a pic if I find it...lol

I think my kids are jaded. They said, but you have to manually load every single one of the rubber bands, all 280'ish of them. So it got me to thinking, maybe a strip of rubber could be fed into a receiver that cuts, stretches, and places the band on the "firing barrel" and then it could be a nearly perpetual gun, as long as you don't run out of rubber strips for ammo. Which reminds me of the Browning 50 cal mg--when Browning demonstrated it to the military, he ran it (fired it with belt ammo) non-stop for over an hour continuously without a jam or misfeed or dud.

can not remember off hand.. did that model have a water cooled jacket? other wise the barrel would have melted.
cool idea though on the rubber band idea.

Rates Of Fire.

It is not inconceivable that it could be fired for 1 hour to test durability. However at 100 RPM given 60 minutes in an hour thats 6000 rounds. Man thats a long link...lol
See Red I ain't always out to get you...lmao I am not aware of the testing that Red is referencing so I do not know if it was a full auto demo or if it was a burst on target display. I do believe that the barrel used would no longer be good for anything other than an anchor.

A spent 5o cal barrel is good for more than an anchor.....I used to have my subordinates hold them out in front of them, arms fully extended, until I was tired watching....( Only when they royally screwed up)...it was quite effective!!!!!

Thanks for the link, Lamron, and for showing me how to do whole web page translations! I use that sometimes when I'm looking for a file or information that isn't available in English. Its far from a perfect translation, but its good enough to understand and navigate a site. |
