He is obviously insane.... or a satirist. There is no way any PC (or any other device) is going to be implanted in me for gaming. Hell, just getting FDA, AMA, and the many other groups involved to OK this type of thing would take decades AFTER the technology exists to even consider it. Then there would be clinical trials, studies, etc.... YES SIR.. he is smoking the good crack

What does he think he is, A BWAIN SPECIALIST!?!
If we were to take gaming that far and we would actually be inside of the game, what's the next step? Little electric shocks in the area we get shot in? (groin shots in particular would scare the crap outta me)
I think we would see more "campers" and less "run-and-gun" players that way. LOL

Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

But I would be very interested in some sort of permanent implant to replace my cell phone--you know, just either touch behind my ear, or kind of lean my head over, and I could answer my calls and hear them privately in my head, and could dial out by subvocalized commands.

I ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY VOICES IN MY HEAD. I don't want any more..... ;D

Not me. I want nothing "implanted" in me that isn't medically necessary. I can just see the goons down at US Cellular now... Mr. Stormes, please step into the office for your new Blackberry implant." LOL

The technology for this kind of thing is getting closer, but most of the research is being done in the field of prosthetics, not gaming. However, once it gets perfected for those uses, there will be no shortage of people who would pay good money for non-medically-necessary "upgrades" to their bodies.

I say this because I love my bluetooth earpiece for my cellphone--one touch to answer, then handsfree for as long as batteries and cell signals last (if I want). And one touch to call last number I called. It has really helped in my job, when I'm tied up or have "dirty" hands and can't take time out to wash off, change gloves, and then retrieve lost calls--just grab a paper towel or 3 and use "clean" side of towels to touch my earpiece and I take calls while I work, instead. And driving is better, too, with handsfree (as regards the phone!), although still have to apply attention to the road and defensive driving, etc.
