Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

Hi, guys. I want to install Adobe Acrobat pro on my work PC, a Windows box, but I don't know if my system requirements will suffice, before I buy it (via upgrade, I have Standard for my Mac, won it at a MacUser meeting).
On the Mac, I go to my Apple menu (Window's equivalent is the Start menu button), and choose "About this Mac" and then click on "More info," and the built-in system profiler then tells me everything about my complete system in a quick, simple to read form, from Hardware (processor and speed, memory, video boards, hd, cd/dvd drive, etc.) to Software (incl. OS version and apps and control panels/extensions, etc.) to Network (ethernet info, IP address, router name and address, etc.), and so forth.
But how do I do that with Windows? I need processor and speed, Windows version incl. service pack #, Hard Disk space available, RAM available, etc.
What keystrokes or control panels or apps do I use for this?
I couldn't find anything about that through the Windows Help file. If I ask the IT people, I'll be told I can't do it, because they're not providing the product, and they won't buy it for me, so it's a catch-22.
Thanks!

Go to Start/Control Panel/System. Click the tab for General if it doesn't start you there. This won't tell you EVERYTHING about the computer, but it will tell you:
- OS type including which, if any, Service Packs are installed - Processor Type - Speed - RAM
Since its very unlikely you don't have enough Hard Drive space, you probably don't really need to check it, but if you do:
Start/My Computer/ (right click on drive you want to check) /Properties. Default primary Hard Drive is "C", but there may be others.
