Never ask what kind of computer a person uses--if it's a Mac, he'll say; if not, why embarrass him?

1) If you're not using your own personal avatar and had an avatar through the forum itself, you'll need to go back in and pick one (again) for the upgrade to show it. For the regular people here, an avatar is the fancy little picture that shows under your name on the left side of the postings. To do this: Log into the forum, click profile at the top of the window, click on "modify profile," put your password in twice, pick your avatar from the pulldown menu, change whatever else you want including your time zone setting, add an email, etc., then click "modify profile" at the bottom. 2) I tried the new spell-check feature on a posting ---> "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /speller/server-scripts/spellchecker.pl on this server." Lamron, can we get this turned on (for those who care, anyway)?

The hosting company is aware of the spell check problem and is working on getting it fixed.

Spell-checker is working. Acts as a standard spell-checker, but doesn't have ability to add a word (Lamron, for example, will always be misspelled), but is helping me. It isn't available, though, from the QuickReply option, unless you post first, then modify your post and spell-check it then. It is internet based so is slow to load, but after it loads and checks your post, it works pretty well. Give it a try, if spelling matters to you.

I don't use it, because I have a built-in Desmo spellchecker! 50% relyable. ;D

Noticed ad-free was off/gone on forums. Sent a little support, to use as Lam sees fit.

My avatar has apparently been zapped. Lamron, any ideas why it isn't showing up anymore???
Never mind. Just cut/pasted the avatar url into the address bar and it is apparently a dead link now. Dammit! That was a cool pic, too! Time to surf...

Thank you RedRock. We're now AD-FREE again.
Desmo2: Linking your picture to some other website is Bandwidth Theft! Everytime someone HERE sees your avatar, the host site has to pay for it. Save the picture to your computer, then upload it to a hosting company like ImageShack. Put the ImageShack URL into your profile.

Lamron, can you forward to the forum website people a bug for them to look into, please?
With my Mac, the new upgrade does not show me the names of the members logged in at the bottom of the page, whereas on Windows it does.
So, Windows shows 1 Member, 1 Guest. RedRock
but my Mac OS 10.3.9 shows only 1 Member, 1 Guest.
and it's true for when it shows admin's too, it doesn't show Lamron at the bottom (or Desmo, if he's considered admin, too).
No biggie, just an irritant, and probably easily fixable (and yes, it's after I have logged in). Thanks.
