What a disgusting piece of hate-filled, stereotypical propaganda this is! littledemocrats.net/Check out the sample pages-- littledemocrats.net/samples.html --mommy protecting the kids from the big old bad elephant hogging the path and heading for the homeless person, mommy and kids sharing while the fat cat republican and family walk on by the homeless person, mommy nurturing and supporting public teaching while the fat cat republican's child goes to the $160,000 school and the homeless person looks on from the outside. And the fat cat republican is always smoking a honking big cigar, of course. Shame on the writer for such garbage.... ...and for poor grammar ("just like Mommy does" should be "just as Mommy does.")

WOW.... I must admit, this one is ... well... just plain ugly. While wandering around on the website I found this little nugget that back's up Red's assertion that this is a "disgusting piece of hate-filled, stereotypical propaganda"
QUOTE "Why Mommy is a Democrat may look like a traditional children's book, but it definitely isn't just for children. With numerous subtle (and not-so-subtle) satirical swipes at the Bush administration and the Republican party, Why Mommy will appeal to Democrats of all ages!"
While in theory I agree that the Bush administration is a mess, things like this do nothing to make things better, but work to further divide the parties. A sad sad sad effort I must admit.

This kind of trash just shows the desperation of the Democratic party to find any way they can to discredit the Republican party. Instead of backing their views with facts and and common sense, they produce hate mongering crap like this book. What values will it teach the children except too hate.
Are the Democrats so very worried about future numbers, that they feel the need to attempt to brainwash our children?

Of course the libtards are lying about their ability to do all those things, but lets assume for the moment that they REALLY are able and they REALLY do intend to do them. What madness must possess someone to actually want it? Do people really want the government to be their mother? Grow up a little and stop sucking on Mommy's nipple! They're a bunch of worthless cowards that hide behind their mother's skirts because the real world is just too scary.
People who want this kind of existence shouldn't be allowed to vote. They voluntarily waive their right to be considered adults when they want someone else to make all their decisions for them and to shield them from any consequences of their actions.
Anyone who refuses to protect and provide for himself/family should suffer a miserable existence. We shouldn't be trying to prevent that from happening, we should be ENCOURAGING it!

Its people like that who make the rest of us (from what I can tell, just me and vinny in here) look bad as Democrats. Most of the Democrats I know aren't like that at all, but its the hardcore people that everyone pays attention to.
EDIT: Let me refraise...
ALL of the Democrats I know aren't like that at all

WOAH there Pres... While I agree with your sentiment, I in no way profess to be a Democrat. I do not affiliate myself with any party or political ideology. I do tend to lean to the left on many issues, but am fiercely conservative on others. In my thinking, BOTH of the major parties in this country are in serious need of restructuring. BOTH are led by those who are way too concerned with wealth and power at the expense of all people, and BOTH are working more against the other than for the good of the nation as a whole. There is good and bad on both sides of the political system... but we need a meeting of the minds versus the constant bitching and blaming that we have presently.

Am I missing that information somewhere? It seems that this author, as a private citizen and businesswoman, has done this on her own. I DO see where some idiot Democrat politicians support her efforts/book (perhaps they are investors?)

Vin... I don't know if the Democrats backed the book or not.. But it does go to show the depth of mind poisoning of one of their professed members. Not to split hairs but the author is a man not a woman. Check it out littledemocrats.net/aboutus.html not that it makes any difference who produced the trash. It is just troublesome to me to know that there are people out there like this that want to influence our children in such a perverse and wrong way.

HA! very sexist of me... I assumed it was a woman based on the illustrations. Just didn't "seem" like the work of a man. I hate it even more now As to the depth of mind poisoning involved, isn't it sad that there are extremists who follow both parties? They are all whacked.

I do tend to lean to the left on many issues, but am fiercely conservative on others. That is the same with me, but in my experience in discussions in these forums... I am considered Dem, even after the exact same statement you just made. People always want the black and white answer "What are you?". So I just go with Dem, cuz thats the closest I can come to a definite answer. I'm sorry if I offended you, I just meant that you and me seem to be the same type of person, more dem, but sometimes concervative.

As Mr. Meagie (spelling?) said in the movie " The Karate Kid"
"you like grape. Right side of road... ok. Left side of road ... ok. You sit in middle of road, sooner or later..... SQUISH!!!!!! just like grape."
Moral of the story ... chose your side and stand up for what you believe in, or get run over and flattened by both sides.
Just my 2 cents worth.. have a good one.

I do not sit in the middle of the road. I just do not agree 100% with either side on all issues. I am very conservative when it comes to issues of personal responsibility, and financial issues. But I am quite liberal on social issues such as abortion, homosexuality, and the like. In short, I feel that people should have the right to make their own life decisions BUT they should have to support themselves to keep that right. I work hard and have mde an excellent life for my family and I absolutely resent the fact that our goverment does anything it wishes with the taxes they collect without any real input from we who fill those coffers.
