I've been watching Breaking Bad on NetFlix. Just finished season 3. It's good, but oh so depressing for the severe and wide-reaching effect that the drug activity has on the whole community!

Yeah, I lost my HBO. Had been free. So I'll likely wait until the new season is available on DVD with NetFlix.

I've been stuck watching series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine from the beginning.
I love seeing time travel and parallel universe episodes, but I really like seeing episodes the same characters play as different characters in an episode. I had no idea what the original characters without makeup looked like....it's like picking out the voices of animated show characters, it's fun for me discovering people this way.
It's been 2 weeks so far. Series ends after 7 seasons. I just got to Season 6, Episode 13 - Far Beyond the Stars, If you remember the episode, you'll understand what I mean.

I agree totally, Major. I watched DS9 from the start last summer and fall and thoroughly loved it. To me it's the best ST series of all of them, and I too loved the no-makeup episode. I'd seen many of the characters in other shows, for example, the one who does quark playing the principal in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Zimmerman), but the face on the Gul Dukat actor--oh so scarred by acne!!!! And the "kid" playing Nog--not a kid at all!
And Grand Nagus Zek was played by Wallace Shawn, of "Inconceivable!" fame of "The Princess Bride."
And I still have the hots for young Terry Farrell !!!! (Lt. Dax) And when Col. Kira Nerys was pregnant--she was truly pregnant, and the true father was the actor playing Dr. Bashir !!!! Did you know that?

Its odd how watching the series 1 episode right after another, gives it a very different feel than watching 1 episode per week.
The actor that plays Nog not actually being a kid was what I think surprised me the most.

Its odd how watching the series 1 episode right after another, gives it a very different feel than watching 1 episode per week. I've noticed this too. I've watched several series through Netflix, and watching 6-8 episodes per week gets me much more attached to the characters. When you watch a 10 year series like Stargate SG1 compressed into a few months time, you really see the evolution of the characters and the actors playing them.

I agree (about the effect of watching eps back to back and not weekly). So make sure you guys all watch this video, it's very funny and perfectly appropriate to this discussion, One More Episode of Battlestar Galactica: And I haven't found SG1 on NetFlix, I wanted to watch it, having seen only a few minutes here and there of the series. However, I did see SG:Universe which I thoroughly enjoyed. That was only 2 seasons, though, alas.

oh, you will love, SG1! ---youtube link..one more episode...lol Almost done with DS9, on 3rd to last episode and I guess I'd never seen the end episodes, and I had to look up so see which came first, The Dogs of War DS9 episode or the movie First contact. I didn't realize First contact was that long ago, wow time flies. Anyway, I brought it up because I didn't know if anyone else had caught it or not. ____________________ 1996 - First Contact Picard quote: They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further! ____________________ 1999 - DS9 The Dogs of War 7x24 Quark quote: I won't preside over the demise of Ferengi civilization, not me! The line has to be drawn here! This far and no further! I just thought it was funny as hell that Quark was quoting Picard

Yeah, I remember thinking the same, what a similar line. But the line I remember best is from...?Lilly....the black lady from earth on First Contact...."Ohhhh, did they break your little ship?!?!?! (sarcastically) "

Oh, and....the same way that the Star Wars novels have continued the story past SW 6, now out about ? 30 years or more, the ST:DS9 novels and related ST novels have gone many years past DS9 and Voyager, to the end of the Borg and into a new serious multi-species conflict, the Typhon Pact.
