Who plays COD2? I got a chance to play it, and after getting used to the different control system, I really liked it. Of course, it needs some modding....

I do(did)...just haven't for awhile. I was playing COD online before I came to Lamrons. After finding this I switched back. With COD I mainly used to to play TDM's as I found it to be more fun.

I have been playing COD2 more these last 3 weeks even though I've never even started the single player game. I have found 2 very nice sniper only servers and they're both fun and hard. The all weapons deathmatches (free for all's) turn out to be just another frag fest, though. There is one mod out with flyable planes and driveable tanks, too, on a capture the flag map! TDM maps are hard until you learn where to look for campers, snipers, and people traveling through the map. The grenades are way too slow, and you can't cook them and yet they'll go off in your hand if you don't throw them. Some servers let you set grenades on the ground as trip wire mines.
A recent check showed 8,000+ COD2 servers running, but most had zero or only one player.
But I have to say, while the sniper only and huge maps with down the barrel sighting are different and interesting, I still find MOH with Lam's playground mods to be the most fun and most playable thing out there.
Let me know if any of you want to rendezvous to or at a COD2 event, some evening or weekend when the playground is slow.

Haven't played much COD, I've always preferred MOH: Lamron Edition. I'd be happy to play if you guys got something going.

COD 2 appears to have lots of modding potential. It looks like some things could be modded to play more similarly to MOH, while taking advantage of the extra features COD2 offers. One thing I noticed is that there are lots of other weapons used in the single player game that aren't available multi-player, so there's one thing that can be added. The moving crosshairs seem excessive, but that can be reduced.
I noticed that even with the improved graphics and effects, it runs smoother on my computer than SH does. I can actually play it on a higher resolution and it still plays fine.
So basically, after I change everything about it until its unrecognizable as COD2 anymore, it could be a great game!

You know, if the Kingdom doesn't work out, and you find yourself enjoying modding COD2, you could, perhaps, oh, I don't know..............I'm sure there's an idea running around there somewhere, if I can get these moving crosshairs to steady up!

No!!! Don't give anything to mar, nothing at all. You should make a mod in lp and lk that makes him run slower, and has no weapons.
He'd still find a way to kill me too. I know he would, cuz he sucks like that.
LOL!!! You know I hate you.... umm I mean hate you, ah whatever.

I've been playing CoD UO. I never sprung for COD2 due to some of the reviews. I MUCH prefer the CoD play now that I've gotten used to it. For those unfamiliar, I'll break down some of the features: 1- Better graphics and sound, more realistic animations. 2- Your crosshairs spread wider when moving. They narrow for better 'unaimed' accuracy when motionless, when kneeling, and when prone. 3- For accurate shots, you have to aim down the sights. This drastically reduces your mobility and field of view, but makes for much better accuracy and realism. I LOVE this feature. 4- The crosshairs on a scoped rifle sway to an fro...attempting to imitate the effects of breathing, heartbeat, and unsteady hold. Swaying minimizes when kneeling and more when prone. (I like this feature too, it just takes some getting used to. Give it time, Lamron!) 5- You can search dead bodies for their goodies. 6- Goodies are not generic. If you are American, you can't pick up a German grenade and increase your nades. You can trade your American grenades for the found German ones, but you can't carry both. Ammo is weapon specific, too. No more SMG ammo fitting all SMG's, etc. 7- Sprinting is tiring. Your sprint meter will only allow you to sprint for a few seconds. You can still run normal speed. You can crouch and sneak at a slower speed, or you can snail along while prone. 8- Driveable tanks and jeeps. You can switch between driver/tank gunner and machine gunner when on board, if those spots aren't occupied by another player. 9- With 2 nades you can set tripwires. If you find a satchel charge you can place those for remote detonation, or pull the fuse and toss for instant satisfaction.
Many of these options can be de-selected (tanks, trips, body searching, etc). I play a lot on a sniper-only server, but still enjoy mixing it up with the other servers, too. CoD'ers, anything I am forgetting?
IMO, CoD is a MUCH more enjoyable game than MOH, which is why I haven't been around much. The game has been around for a while, so you can pick it up pretty cheap. You can get CoD, the UO expansion, and CoD2 in a battle pack, too.
Lamron, DO IT! Make a CoD LP! If you guys prefer COD2, I'm in.
Okay, time to amend the new year wish list (AGAIN): 1- SWAT RAID pack, med pack, and lots of assorted gear 2- Gladius tactical flashlight 3- trade Glock 17 for Glock 19 4- COD2 5- trade Ducati 900SS for Ducati 1098 (yeah, right...) 6- Springfield SOCOMII M1A (yeah, right...) 7- ... well, it's actually a long list...

I played about 2/3 through the single player game and decided that having your crosshairs dissappear anytime you move or shoot is rediculous. I like that your accuracy/crosshair size is dependant on your stance, but dissappearing completely is just too much. So I figured out how to change that and made it so your crosshairs are still different sizes for each stance, but they don't ever dissappear. MUCH BETTER! I also slightly increased the zoom when using iron sights. Its alot more enjoyable to play this way.
