Time to start a new thread.
Public Service Announcement:
Watch out for two young and very attractive women, working the Home Depot parking lots.
Their back story is that one of their boyfriends, or husband had gotten in an argument and left them stranded there, so they needed a ride. Both would sit in the back seat, and shortly start making out with each other. They would then invite you to join them. While one kept you busy the other would take your wallet and cash.
I had my wallet stolen on Monday, Tuesday, Friday evening, and again on Sunday.......

Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest Psychological journals. The funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile...
1. Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs out over a crystal clear stream.
2. Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool running water.
3. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air. 4. No one knows your secret place.
5. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the world.
6. The soothing sound of a gentle water fall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
7. The water is so crystal clear that you can easily make out the face of the person you are holding underwater. There !! See ? It really does work. You're smiling already.

That was perfect for today! I had to deal with several people today that desperately need to have their breathing privileges revoked.

Well, a hospital ordered an item for a patient that they needed before they went home. I went there to deliver it and found that they sent the patient home without it. I wasted an extra hour chasing this patient down at home. This hospital does this frequently and on purpose. I think the additional $200 penalty would be apropriate.

Company car paid for by my company, not the hospital. The hospital has no responsibility for anything. They can do anything they feel like. It doesn't hurt them at all that our company had to pay me for the extra hour of drive time, and it doesn't hurt them that the patient had to wait for the equipment.
That's the big problem. There's no way to hold anybody accountable for anything. Most of the time when we deliver equipment to a patient in a nursing home, the nursing home steals the equipment when the patient dies. Then they just rent it out to someone else. We can't do anything about it because the nursing home isn't responsible for the equipment, the (dead) patient is.

Wow here in IA, a nursing home could be in HUGE trouble for that. We document everything that comes in like that for the pt on a separate form with serial #'s and brand, and type of equipment. When they die the charge nurse is responsible for the disposition of the equipment back to the company and or family if it was bought out right. And must sign off on the form along with the family or company. The state checks these forms and compliance every year during inspection.

There's no way a nursing home around here would ever sign anything that would make them responsible for equipment in a patient's room. They would just laugh at us, because we can't refuse to leave the equipment if they don't. We're responsible for supplying the patient with equipment, wherever they are.
