well I'm out.. my vid card wont run the game.. all that time to dl the freaking thing too GRRRRRR... my system meets all the other requirements though.. time for a vid card hunt again I guess.

Just placed my bid for a x1300 pro pci-e card with shipping will be about 45 bucks.
God the things we do to feed our addictions lol.
Update: I won the auction.. Yea!!! ;D I will be able to run the demo in a few days when the card gets here.

same thing here...X800 is only a Shader 2.0 card....but a demo isn't worth buying a new vid for...yet..I still have a PCI-E motherboard just laying in a box waiting for a card..so maybe. Hard to justify getting rid of a good video card, but now that the prices have dropped ....by the way..the X1300 is WAY SLOWER than the X800XL...it supports the Shader 3.0 though.. was trying to find a comparison for you.

I'm looking at getting a card that will last awhile when/if I decide to upgrade to Vista so that I can use Dx10.
So far, I found the BFG GeForce 8600 GTS OC 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express and few similar to that one...
I've never gone with anything but ATI, but I haven't seen any ATI cards that support DirectX 10 yet.
I heard a rumor that "they" are working on getting Dx10 to work with XP though... hmmm

I heard a rumor that "they" are working on getting Dx10 to work with XP though... hmmm Yeah, there's a group working on that. Microsoft claims it can't be done, at least not fully. When I upgrade my computer I'm going to stick with XP. I've got too many utilities that I use daily that won't work with Vista. The tiny difference in the top end of the graphics won't be worth the hassle of learning a new OS. It will still be a huge step up from what I have now. I'm looking at this for my monitor: www.viewsonic.com/products/lcddisplays/xseries/vx2835wm/
