I actually got to try it out
Playing in the single-player mode I didn't really see much improvement regarding the digital soldiers' movements and such. They seemed to be running around like Hunch-backs or something. Didn't seem to be a normal looking crouch.
Many different weapons lay all around (after you kill a few enemies) and are available for 'swapping-out' during play. Aiming these weapons is another thing though. The cross hairs were the default MOH ones, but, you can fit a quarter inside of it. Until you hold your right-clicker and AIM your weapon, you won't be hitting much (this may be the most realistic aspect of games like these). So, you need to press and hold your right clicker to aim, slide the mouse around and shoot with the left clicker. That wasn't so easy but I am sure that you could bind these functions with another key maybe?
Running/walking was completely different too. while running your weapon was totally turned to the side. I guess I didn't even try to shoot while I was running because of this. I could only lean around corners if I was holding the right clicker and using the 'careful-aim' thingy.
I did manage to win some marksman awards which did allow me to shoot/reload faster than default. That part I liked a lot because when you were informed of winning this merit, the game-play went into slo-mo but let me keep plinking off my victims with the Mauser. That was real fun and also let me take a breather from all the confusion
Gained access to many roofs and interiors of buildings but didn't experience any operating doors or other moving map parts. The map seemed big but very cluttered. Lots of trash to get hung-up-on. It was a night-time scenario with the demo so it was of course, dark. Real hard to see anything and I didn't really have time to look for the 'brightness adjustment' nor did I want to start a new game again.
Adjusting the settings, like the mouse sensitivity, from the main menu was really odd and I had to "save and exit" to a brand new game start.
The background images and the sounds were epic although they come with a price.
Lag. Way too much stuff happening in this game to be anything but Laggy. What is the point of having all of this great digital artwork and background if we all need to adjust all of our settings way low in order to produce less lag? It is similar to playing the map 'Snowy Park' when you turn from side to side its like a time-delay for the action to happen.
Are they expecting us to buy top-of-the-line computers just for the purpose of playing their game?
I am guessing... yes?
If you guys are able to try this demo out, let me know if you experienced anything other than what I did. I am just curious.
(correction, I guess it might have been the Kar rifle instead of the Mauser? I don't know for sure but it had about the same power)
