Vin I try my very best not to make personal attacks or name calling. I state what I believe in black and white. Our debates here do become heated from time to time, but at the end of the day I believe we are all still friends.
It has been my experience that the liberals try to change the subject when they become cornered and can not support their argument. My post before this one was my attempt to bring the thread back on topic.

I agree that you do not act in the manner in which I posted about Overall I know all is good between all of us here. I only asked becasue i tend to see it fairly often and wonder why it is that way. To me it displays a lack of belief in one's position, or at least a lack of ability to back it up factually.

Yes, the liberals are all so fair and nice and wonderful and why can't we all just get along and love each other and agree to disagree and accept anything said or written in the mainstream media or by ex(?)-terrorist professors and kumbayah my lord michael row your boat ashore it's a small world after all and there is no right and wrong.
(PS, imagine that hideous Purple Dinosaur saying the above in all his sincerity, and you'll get the gist of it!)

It was simply asking a question to which I would have liked an answer. Instead however, I get a smart a$$ response. I am neither suprised nor shocked by that

.. What's that Bush, NO WMD's in Iraq? That is the biggest lie in decades. You're right. That's a huge lie. Its been repeated over and over again so many times that people actually believe he said that, and that its the reason we're in Iraq. Of course, he never said that, and its not why we're there. Why is it that conservatives in general feel the need to be so negative when commenting on the thoughts and opinions of others who differ from them? If someone came up to you and said they hated you and your country, and your family, and everything that was ever good in the world so much that they would dedicate their lives and stop at nothing to destroy EVERYTHING you ever cared about, I doubt you'd feel very civil towards them. We're not talking about a mild difference of opinion here, we're talking about life and death and ruining countries. The most recent estimate puts Rachel Carson's victims at about 50 million. That's 50 million people MURDERED by her (and her supporters). And they just see that as an encouraging sign that they are heading in the right direction.

I disagree. Say what you wish, I refuse to argue rather than discuss. I am done.

Just an observation here, not looking to create a larger argument... Why is it that conservatives in general feel the need to be so negative when commenting on the thoughts and opinions of others who differ from them? From my point of view it seems that many are simply incapable of discussing any pertinent issues without making personal attacks, name calling, and belittling those with opposing points of view. I find that method of response weak when trying to inform or convince one to change their opinion. Just my two cents. Just an observation here, not looking to create a larger argument... Why is it that BLACKS in general feel the need to be so ANGRY when commenting on the thoughts and opinions of others who differ from them? Oh yeah, all fair and equal and open-minded and willing to listen and not jump to conclusions or generalize with absurd personal observations and insults disguised as a "question." How sad that what was obvious from the first time the "question" was brought up (and ignored then) had to be explained after the third time it was brought up.

OK a few hours after I opened this and several re-reads to see what I was missing I think I will comment. Yes the image depicted pisses me off. That photo (doctored or not) did indeed depict some very fine young men paying great honor to there country at a time when they needed to remember what it was about. And I am sorry if this sounds elitist, but if you have not served in the armed forces you may not fully under stand the actions that lead to this moment in time. As to the topic of climate change and all that, I think that everyone should do what they are willing to do to help clean up our earth. If you choose to drive a "prius" then do it, but don't ask me to give up my 4x4 V8. you don't need power, fine I do. When I down a deer in the back of a damn swamp and don't feel like dragging his ass out I'll just drive in and get him. Every organization has an agenda. I think that needs said again. EVERY ORGANIZATION HAS AN AGENDA. OK before I am see as an ignorant red neck I'll drop it.

So far as I know, no one was offended - I certainly was not. My comments were based on my observance of a lack of respect for the thoughts and opinions of others. There is a difference between debating or discussing different ideas/points of view and being rude and disrespectful. As to what posters are pushing the line of what is generally considered acceptable, anyone who reads this thread can plainly see that.
